The lady in blue.

The lady in blue is a portrait of my maternal grandmother, who has completed 63 years of her life. The reason why I write about her today is because I am soon going to my maternal home after two long years. I can’t wait to meet her! But till then I will write about her, to control my excitement.

My grandmother is gifted with a beautiful grand-daughter, just kidding xD.

As I was saying, my grandmother is a personification of love. A beautiful soul is trapped inside her eternal body.  She is as pure as snow. She is as old as a new born. She is as cool as a teenager. Long-story short, she is the best lady I have ever been with.

Unlike other Indian Grandmothers, my grandmother loves eating from hotels. She has typical Indian taste-buds, i.e. she would have anything and everything which has onions and garlic in it. She enjoys having pizzas and pastas. She hates dressing up in saris. Despite her age she loves traveling. She is the biggest theist I have ever crossed. So, she combines both these interests and aims on traveling all the well-known temples. And she is not far from her goal.

“Yena rascala” – said my brother as we were in a car, heading home to meet our granny after a year. As I entered I saw a lady standing with her face turned away from us. I couldn’t recognize her. She had shoulder length, henna dyed hair. When she turned to face us I was shocked. It was my grandmother. She had chopped her lengthy hair to bob cause as she later explained she could not stand the heat. Trust me no typical Indian grandmother has got the guts to do that. Then did I realize that my gutsiness comes from no-one but my grandmother!
“Let’s try that roller-coaster!” – She had once said when we were in an amusement park. I had literally dropped my jaw, when I heard those words coming from her. We ended up sitting next to each other, holding our hands tight and screaming as hell, on the roller-coaster. I remember watching ‘Shoo koi hai’ - a successful horror T.V series with her, a decade earlier. I enjoy every minute with her. She is never a bore. The best thing about her is that she keeps accepting changes with time and understands a teenager well. I bet none could handle a teenager better than her.  My grandmother loves excitement. She loves trying new things. Now I definitely know where my trait comes from ;).

You will always be the COOLEST grandmother anyone could wish for. I hope that you have a smile on your face after reading this.I love you to the moon and back nani :* ! Can’t wait to see you!
