Music – Elixir ( Take one).

The definition of music varies from one person to another.  Some people say it’s a combination of instruments beating on the same rhythm along with vocals. While the others say it’s the fusion of vocals of varying pitches with meaningful lyrics. There are infinite genres of music- folk, R&B, classical, rock, country, etc. And everybody has their own taste in music. For instance I prefer country and slow music over rock or ‘house’ music.

“Rap is like modern poetry.”

Music artists think that there is nothing other than music and there is no life without it. They are so engrossed in the music. Not just music artists, even other people get soo into music that they forget about the world. Music has its own power, which can take us away from all our problems and tensions. It is like a therapy, a medication. Music is something which can changes one’s mood in seconds.  It can enlighten your mood, and at the same time it can make you sad by its meaningful lyrics.

“One thing about music, when it hits you, you feel no pain.”- Bob Marley.

Researches state that “music improves our concentration skills.” Believe it or not - ‘Chickens who listen to classical music lay larger eggs.’  And ‘cows make more milk when listening to slow jams.’ This is the power of music.

“Music expresses that which cannot be said and on which it is impossible to be silent” – Victor Hugo.

When we are happy we dance and enjoy the tune of the song, but when we are sad, we close our eyes and understand what the song means and what it is trying to convey to us. We grow up with music. A girl crosses her teenage phase listening to “Taylor Swift” , adulthood with “Enrique Iglesias”, a lady with “Adele”  and an oldie with “Jason Mraz”.
Some of my all-time favorites are-
*I won’t give up – Jason Mraz.
*All of me –John Legend.
*Hero- Enrique Iglesias.
*Pehla Nasha- Udit Narayan.
*Abhi Mujhe mein kahin- Sonu Nigam.
Music is my life. It is my religion. :) !
